In conjunction with the City of Monash and Harris HMC Commercial Builders, Pro Light & Sound were called in to design, install, and service the entire audiovisual system for the new Batesford Community Hub.
The Hub is home of the University Of The 3rd Age, a thriving adult education centre. The tennants had specific requirements for 
their audiovisual system, including a group of 3 large seminar spaces which can independant or joined for larger events.
The seminar rooms are powered by the Crestron MPS100 System - a elegant and intelligent router for all audio and video devices.
The Cres
tron Control wallplates are suited to the user's needs - offering them the functions they require without confusing language or extra buttons.
The audio is supplied by the new Australian Monitor AMD series Digital power amplifiers and this suits the high fidelity Turbosound Ceiling speakers perfectly.
The Largest Seminar Room gave us a challenge - a roof which rakes up in two directions and the client needed a floating projector screen mounted straight.
We designed and fabricated a custom bracket for the screen and carefully installed this above the raked ceiling for a perfect finish.
The most technicial aspect of the installation was the design and fitting of the Hearing Induction Loops under the floor of the seminar rooms.
Each room needs to be free from 'overspill', and as they border each other this makes loop design difficult & critical. A complex array system had to be laid to achieve Australian Standards.
Hearing Augmentation is a specialist area and there are countless variables to keep in mind when designing, installing, and commissioning the right loop in the right room.
With the new Australian Standards dicating far greater use of Induction Loops in public and private buildings, having both the scientific expertise and practical installation experience is a must for ensuring any loop meets spec.
We supplied projectors, televisions, input panels & audio systems for several other meeting areas and classrooms inside the Hub, and all had to meet the strict 'green standard' requested by the architects.
The entire project has opened and the builder, the council, and the tennats are excited by the end result.
