For many years, global lifestyle brand ESPRIT has collaborated with SOS Children's Villages, to help children throughout the world.
As well as supporting six SOS Children’s Villages programmes around Delhi in the past, ESPRIT marked the opening of the SOS Children’s Village in Alibaug, with The BIG BANG - a global celebration of a village completely financed by the brand and providing loving homes for 140 children in the south of Mumbai.
Esprit’s BIG BANG celebrations (5-13 November 2010) encompassed the banging of a drum as a universally recognised symbol of festivity, as well as being a symbol of global strength and unity.
Australia’s Melbourne Central store joined forces with 10 other stores across the globe - New York, Paris, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and New Dehli - to house a Super Drum, on which customers were invited to Make Their Bang Count to help reach a target of 3million bangs, at which point ESPRIT would pledge an additional 500,000 Euros to SOS.
Pro Light & Sound were called upon for their expertise in this area - providing a sound system worthy of the performing drummers, lighting for the stage and store as well as 4 plasmas to show the work already under way in Mumbai. Joining the celebrations on BIG BANG day on 13 November was Sigrid Thornton who pledged her support to help Australia bang its drum! It was a very successful day with over 3 million bangs reported even before the event left our shores!
